Getting this booty in gear for the warmer months and using my own damn self as my motivation 👊🏻
Because you don’t have to hate where and who you were, in order to love how far you have come OR to want to see change.
I wasn’t in terrible shape and I didn’t have a ton of weight to lose. I was already going to the gym 1-2 hours a day doing my lifting, cardio and core routine, but I wasn’t happy. I wasn’t happy about the results I was seeing, with how much time I had taken away from my social life and down time to work towards my goals, or with how I developed this self loathing relationship with food.
The biggest change that I made when it came to my health and fitness was deciding to stop going at it alone. I was pretty knowledgeable about fitness and knew my way around the gym well, but what I didn’t understand was that there was a way to workout that took considerably less time, would keep me motivated and would give me better results. I didn’t know this because I wasn’t a professional- I hadn’t gotten my degree or certifications in the field or dedicated years to understanding the science behind nutrition and fitness.
This decision to start following programs designed by the best in the industry, changed everything. I began working out less but feeling better. I saw such change in just 2 weeks that I froze my gym membership and began working out at home on a consistent basis. Every program came with a nutrition plan that was simple and allowed me to redefine my relationship with food, without having to sacrifice the foods I loved or dinners and drinks out with friends.
I eat more and workout less and I have never felt better physically or mentally.
