Good morning! Nothing like a big plant base breakfast! I am a huge fan of all things fruit. Today we have strawberries raspberries blackberries and pineapple! Fruit is so good for the digestive system and has tons of natural sugar especially good for somebody who has a mean sweet tooth like me. I am also a fan of avocado toast. Today I used Eziekial bread. Ezekiel bread is sprouted bread coming from sprouted grains and it’s about 4 g of protein a slice. It is so good for you. I topped it with half avocado half a teaspoon of olive oil and cracked pepper seasoning. 😋 Yummm. I also did a bowl of three minute steel cut oats with a pot of vegan butter and some maple syrup (not good for you but it will be okay). I have a super sensitive stomach I get sick whenever I eat meat, cheese, over processed wheat, and dairy. 🔥Full body workouts by @cmccfitness and @dancudes 🔥 . Full body workouts are some of the best workouts one can do. You're working your entire body and all its muscle groups in one workout 2-3x/week keeping intraworkout volume low to moderate and spreading weekly volume across multiple days. They are great not just for beginners, but intermediate and advanced lifters alike given they are adjusted to meet the fitness level and needs of the latter two individuals. They are also extremely versatile given the amount of muscle groups being worked at once. Generally, doing 1-2 exercises of pushing, pulling and leg-based mechanics and adding some isolation and/or core at the end is how they are commonly structured and for good reason. On the left, you'll notice there a lot of supersets (working two exercises back to back of either different/opposing muscle groups or of the same muscle group) while the one on the right is more of a straight-set system. You'll also notice that in both workouts, the first few exercises are heavier in weight, lower in reps while as the workout goes on, we transfer more to lighter weight and more moderate to higher rep counts. This is a common strategy in order to ensure we are lifting the heaviest when we are freshest (right at the beginning of the workout). My lunch today... it had to be convenient and ready because I had a pretty jam-packed morning. So last night I prepped my salad when I did my dinner, this one had lettuce, radishes, mixed exotic tomatoes, feta, red spring onion with olive oil and red wine vinegar to dress. Be safe! Keep your back neutral through the entire range of motion on hip hinge movements. How I typically cue this Romanian deadlift that I’ve found effective: . . 1️⃣Start with a tall posture 2️⃣Squeeze your shoulders back 3️⃣While keeping that upper back tightness, relax your knees slightly 4️⃣Still keeping the back tightness, push your butt backward (and if it helps, think upward too) as far as you can. 5️⃣Knees should never bend any more than that initial relaxation or travel forward. This is super common to see. People will often squat their deadlift to some degree. Well it can be dangerous, it can also be a major "energy leak" instead of all you energy going into performing the movement, you also have to put energy into adjust yourself position well under tension. Beginning of Sep’ 2019 👉🏼 Middle of Feb’ 2020 Checked my numbers. Then again. And then again just once more 🧐. I’m actually the same weight (155lbs give or take) in both of the above pictures! Some people have said to me recently “oh you’ve lost weight” - well, not quite; I’ve lost FAT and definitely appear leaner but I’ve actually maintained and built muscle in it’s place. I’m also lifting HEAVIER at the same bodyweight which means strength is up too. So, Goodbye 👋🏼🙂.

KIRSTIN DID A PUSH UP! 💪😁💪 Kirstin and I started working together last summer for a couple of reasons: 1) to build core stability to protect her spine after serious injury, 2) some weight loss, 3) she wanted to be stronger and specifically, do a push up. Today, at a strong and healthy weight, Kirstin did her first push up. 🤩 Kirstin is now focusing on continuing to build strength, periodizing muscle gain focus and body fat cutting focus. This month, she progressed perfectly according to her plan, maintaining her healthy weight with 0 scale movement, while simultaneously shrinking her waist and building her chest and glutes (added 1 1/2 inches to the 🍑 nicely done girl!) while she gets wedding dress-ready. Optimal Dosing & Timing of Protein for Muscle Gain ⠀ I have a highlight titled: ‘Ask Me a Q…’ ⠀ This is a question that came via that route so it gets a super in-depth (for IG) answer! ⠀ Recent research has pointed us to the existence of a ‘leucine threshold’ (LT). Leucine is an amino acid that stimulates muscle protein synthesis (MPS). ⠀ Whey is one of the best sources of leucine & by consuming 0.3g of protein x your weight (kg) you’re likely to hit this LT & maximally stimulate MPS. ⠀ If you’re eating a mixed meal or another protein source, you may like to err on the side of caution & aim for 0.4-0.5 x BW ⠀ MPS will peak about 1.5hours after this, as a generalisation. ⠀ Interestingly, we now know that even if amino acids remain high in the blood, MPS will continue to drop back to baseline. ⠀ Essentially, once you’ve got it up…. & you’ve peaked 💦… it comes down again… ⠀ & you have to wait a bit before you can stimulate it & get it up again…🍆 ⠀ This ‘Refractory Period’ lasts around 2.5-4 hours. Remember, I’m talking about MPS here people 😜 ⠀ I’ve seen way too many people consuming protein almost constantly. The worst is people sipping BCAAs throughout the day! 🤢 ⠀ SWIPE to see a study that compared 1 x 25g dose of whey vs. pulsed protein feedings of 10 x 2.5g. ⠀ 1 x 25g was significantly better in all the important variables measured shown on next Swipe! ⠀ If you SWIPE again you’ll see another study comparing 2 x 40g every 6hrs vs 4 x 20g every 3hrs vs 10g every 1.5hrs ⠀ Inline with what we would expect of the LT & Refractory period, the 4 x 20g ‘won’ 💥 ⠀ Studies trying to compare exact meal frequencies haven’t shown us the EXACT number of meals to eat. ⠀ However, based on all of the above I’d recommend a minimum of 4 🤷🏼‍♂️ We can’t be sure if you’ll get better results aiming for more than this but if you’re awake long enough... no harm in trying 5+ if they’re spaced well! ⠀ 4meals x 0.4 - 0.5g protein = 1.6-2.0g/kg/day, which is what I know most of you aim for anyway 👌🏻 ⠀ I explain this stuff really nicely on my Tour too… hint hint. ⠀ This is the best I could do on an IG post, hope you enjoyed it enough to share it on your story 🙏🏻❤️ ⠀ Much love

🔥🤬...That’s Annoying / STAY Hungry 🔥🤬 One thing that I have learned these days as I just watch people and their actions... Who they were BEFORE they had what they had and how they are NOW that they have it...doesn’t match up AT ALL... Why do you put so much effort in the beginning but when you get it...you slack off? Why get complacent? Do you think that security is gonna always be there just cause you got it now? Let me ask you this...what happens if you lost it? This is subjective to any topic...relationships (trying to get that girl/guy), at your job, when you’ve become the best at something... That’s not how life goes.... it’s one thing to get it...it’s another animal to keep it. There are always hungrier people, you aren’t special...so don’t sleep too long cause everyone is watching you sleep even when you think they aren’t. You have to keep grinding..and KICK IT UP A NOTCH...you don’t have time to sit and get complacent cause in a blink of an eye, it’s gone and now you are back to the drawing board.
